At the Digital Technology Ecology Conference held on December 3, 2024, Lv Pin, Chairman of China Telecom Quantum Group, announced a major scientific and technological achievement: China Telecom successfully developed and launched the "Tianyan-504", the superconducting quantum computer with the largest number of bits in China, which was jointly developed by China Telecom Quantum Group and Guodun Quantum based on the "Xiaohong" chip. With the addition of "Tianyan-504", the quantum computing cloud platform "Tianyan" has realized the dual improvement of the scale and type of computing power, built the largest quantum computing cluster in China including 24 bits, two 176-bit and one 504-bit, and provided five world-class high-performance simulation machines and Cqlib quantum programming framework.
Lv Pin emphasized that this achievement not only demonstrates China Telecom's leading position in the manufacture and delivery of quantum computers, but also marks the leap in the field of quantum computing from verifying the "superiority of quantum computing" to the era of "dedicated quantum computing simulators".
China Telecom's achievements in the field of quantum computing do not stop there. In November 2023, China Telecom launched the world's first hyper-converged cloud platform with quantum superiority capabilities - "Tianyan" quantum computing cloud platform, which integrates the "Tianyi Cloud" supercomputing power and 176 superconducting qubit computing power to provide users with convenient and simple quantum computing services.
The quantum computing products and services launched by China Telecom Quantum Group cover the independent and controllable delivery and operation of Tianyan series quantum computing machines, serving the integration of four computing in the new computing power center; Multi-type quantum computing power supply based on the "Tianyan" cloud platform serves universities and R&D institutions; and the development of quantum computing applications in education, meteorology, electric power, AI and other fields.
As an important part of the new generation of information technology, quantum computing is gradually becoming the focus of scientific and technological competition. With the continuous advancement of technology and the expansion of application fields, the potential of quantum computing in solving complex computing problems, optimizing algorithms, and accelerating data processing will be further revealed. China Telecom's continued investment and innovation in the field of quantum computing will help China gain a favorable position in the global technology competition.
At the 2024 Quantum Technology and Industry Conference, Ke Ruiwen, Chairman of China Telecom, released China Telecom's 2030 Action Plan for Quantum Technology and Industry Development, which includes one goal, five major projects and 10 key tasks. The goal is to improve the original innovation ability, break through the key core quantum technologies, build the world's leading quantum infrastructure, create leading quantum scenario applications, and accelerate the formation of new quality productivity by the end of the "15th Five-Year Plan". The five major projects focus on quantum technology innovation, infrastructure construction, industrial development, talent training, and ecological cooperation, with special emphasis on accelerating the commercialization of quantum computing.
